Being one of the strongest images of my childhood, when I finally got around to painting the lodge, well it came out rather fast. The home of my Irish (paternal) grandparents, the sound of feet on gravel is as powerful to me as the sight of roses blooming in June.
Such is Ireland's way, the Lodge was bulldozed down, and then years later a poor copy re-erected in its place.
